|About the Study||East and West Teignmouth are two towns and parishes adjoining to each other. As its name implies, it is seated at the mouth of the Teign. Neighboring villages are Shaldon, Ringmore.
This study is about the trade between Teignmouth and Newfoundland, and will look at the Social History, individual people who had a connection with the trade as fisherman, boat builders, agents, bye boat keepers to name but a few.
|Population||In Pigots Directory of Devon and Cornwall in 1830,the population of Teignmouth has much increased. East Teignmouth contained in 1830,1 1,466, and West Teignmouth 2,514, total number of inhabitant in the two parishes are 3,980.|
